Welcome to the TEI by Example project!

Besides tutorial modules with tutorials, accompanying examples sections, tests, and exercises sections, TEI by Example delivers two more resources.

First, there is the TEI by Example Validator application, an interactive web application that allows you to validate your XML input against the TEI encoding model as you type. If there are any errors, the validator points out where they are and what could be wrong. Note that this application can not only be used embedded in the exercises sections, but also as a stand-alone real-time TEI validation tool.

The second resource is a “software bibliography,” an annotated list of pointers to XML-related tools and standards that allow you to get to the open source software and/or knowledge you need for creating, viewing, validating, processing XML.

Below is an overview of these extra TEI by Example components.
